Privacy Policy

Rack Rank LLC ("Rack Rank," "we") makes the Rack Rank app and this website. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email support@rackrank.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address or Apple or Google sign-in, username, display name (your first name plus your last name or last initial), division, bodyweight, and date of birth.
- Verification details: your phone number if you verify it to witness lifts, and your school email if you verify it to join a school team.
- Activity: gyms you join, check-ins, sets you log, lifts you witness, flags and reports you submit, challenge entries, and teams you join.
- Location: only when you tap Check in. We use it to confirm you're at the gym and keep your distance from the gym, not your coordinates. We never track your location in the background.
- Camera: used only to scan a gym partner's code when you witness a lift. Nothing is recorded or saved.
- Device details: a push notification token and app version, so we can send the notifications you choose and fix bugs.
- Usage analytics: which features are used, to improve the app. You can turn this off in Settings, Privacy.
What other people can see
- Your username, display name, division, weight class, leaderboard lifts, crowns, challenge results, and team names.
- Never your email, phone number, date of birth, exact bodyweight, location, or sets that aren't on a leaderboard.
How we use your information
We use it to run leaderboards, verify lifts, run weekly challenges and gym and school battles, send notifications you've turned on, prevent cheating and abuse, respond to support requests, and improve Rack Rank. Gyms and schools we partner with may receive totals, like how many members checked in each month, but not information about individual people unless you agree.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Rack Rank: Supabase (database and hosting), Expo (app updates and push notifications), Twilio (verification texts), Resend (verification emails), PostHog (usage analytics, if you allow it), and Google Workspace (email). They process information only to provide their services to us.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, Delete account, or by following the steps on our account deletion page. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and activity. We may keep limited records when the law requires it or to protect against fraud and abuse.
Children
Rack Rank isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email support@rackrank.com and we'll delete it.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, and access to our systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong sign-in and let us know right away if you notice anything unusual.
Your choices
- Change your display name, units, and notifications in Settings.
- Turn off analytics in Settings, Privacy.
- Turn off location or camera access in your phone's settings at any time; you'll just be unable to check in or witness until you turn them back on.
- Ask us for a copy of your information or to correct it by emailing support@rackrank.com.
Changes
If we make important changes to this policy, we'll let you know in the app before they take effect.
